Kyung Pyo Kim: What you need to know about the opponent of Anshul Jubli

Kyung Pyo Kim will be facing India’s Anshul Jubli in the Semi-Finals of Road to UFC on 23rd October 2022 which will take place in Abu Dhabi. Ahead of their bout let’s have a look into the career of Kyung Pyo Kim.

Kyung Pyo Kim also known as the Red Horse was born on 29th January 1992 in South Korea. Coming from a wrestling background, Kyung Pyo Kim fights out of MMA Story in Seoul, South Korea. He trains under head coach Jung Hwan Cha. Although his records indicate participation in multiple weight classes (lightweight, catchweight and welterweight), Kyung Pyo Kim primarily fights in the Lightweight division and has a Pro MMA record of 11 wins and 3 losses.

Off his 11 wins - 55% (6 wins) came as KO/TKO wins, 27% 3(3 wins) came as submissions and 18% (2 wins) came as decisions. Whereas, in the 3 losses he had, he was submitted twice and suffered a KO loss once.

Kyung Pyo Kim made his professional MMA debut at the Road Fighting Championship 21 on February 01, 2015, where he secured his first win via TKO in the second round against his opponent Je IL Jung of South Korea. The Red Horse had a 5 win streak under his belt before he suffered his first ever loss in the Pro circuit against Dae Song Park at the Road Fighting Championship 35 on 10th December 2016. He suffered a split decision loss which stopped him from bettering his 5 win streak. He won his subsequent fight but then again suffered a loss at the hands of Arman Tsarukyan at Road Fighting Championship 43 via unanimous decision.

After the loss at Road FC 43, Kyung Pyo Kim got back to his winning ways and had a 4-win streak before suffering the 3rd loss of his career. He went up against Timur Nagibin of Russia at the Russian Cagefighting Championship - RCC 10 where he succumbed to a first-round KO defeat.

He won his last outing which happened in the quarter-finals of Road to UFC where he fought Asikeerbai Jinensibieke of China. The quarter-finals took place on June 10th, 2022 in Singapore. He secured a comfortable KO win in the first 30 seconds of the first round.

8 of the 11 wins that Kyung Pyo Kim had secured came in the first round itself.
