I don't see any arrogance: Khabib Nurmagomedov refutes claims from Oliveira

The lightweight division has been one of the most exciting weight classes in the UFC. Since the retirement of former undisputed champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, the division found Charles Oliveira as its new undisputed king. However, due to a weight mishap, the Brazilian was stripped of his title. Oliveira did not let this affect him. Instead, he worked his way up to another title shot.

At UFC 280, Charles Oliveira will face Nurmagomedov's close aide Islam Makhachev. The duo will square off at the Ethihad Arena in Abu Dhabi to challenge each other for the vacant UFC lightweight title. Going into the fight, Oliveira believes that Makhachev and his team have been disrespectful.

Recently in an interview, Nurmagomedov addressed the same. The former 155-pound UFC champion said, "Well, listen, first of all, how can you disparage the man who won the Fighter of The Year award in 2022?... So no one is disparaging him. 11 fights in a row he has won with so many finishes. I think it's silly to think we're underestimating this fight."

"This is a very hard fight first of all. Second... simply tell me in what interview we referred to him with arrogance? We always referred to him as a champion. If we say that we want to finish the fight early, I don't see any arrogance in that."

This fight between Makhachev and Oliveira is going to be an interesting one. Both fighters are in red hot form, and it will be interesting to see who prevails and walks away as the winner.
