Kavin Kopperunko, a 13-year-old grappler from India, delivered an outstanding performance at the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) Championship held in Limburg, Germany, securing two championship belts in the Gi and No-Gi expert divisions.
In the No-Gi category, Kavin defeated Adam Dockal from the Czech Republic by points (8-0) in the semifinals and submitted Adrian Hellhorn of Germany in the finals. In the Gi division, he submitted Illia Menkov from Ukraine in the semifinals and outpointed Adam Dockal once again in the finals (3-0).
The 2025 edition of the NAGA Championship was a special event, marking 25 years of the organization’s global presence in grappling competitions.
Kavin trains under Coach Khabib Gadzhimuradov (Dagestan Top Team Dubai) for wrestling and Coach Omar Abdurashidov (JSJ Academy Dubai) for jiu-jitsu. Both coaches hail from Dagestan, a region known for producing world-class grapplers.
