The 2025 PFL World Tournament Finals opened Friday night at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall with champions crowned in the welterweight and featherweight divisions during a thrilling main card broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN+ and DAZN.
Thad Jean (11-0) remained undefeated and captured the 2025 PFL Welterweight World Tournament Championship with a dominant unanimous decision victory over former interim Bellator champion Logan Storley (18-4). Jean’s superior striking dictated the pace over five rounds, nullifying Storley’s relentless wrestling pressure. Judges scored the bout 49-46, 49-46 and 48-47 in favor of Jean.
In the co-main event, Movlid Khaybulaev (24-0-1) submitted Jesus Pinedo (25-7-1) in the fifth round to win the 2025 PFL Featherweight World Tournament Championship. Khaybulaev’s grappling controlled most of the bout, though Pinedo scored a knockdown during striking exchanges. The end came at 1:17 of Round 5 via arm-triangle choke, securing Khaybulaev’s second PFL title.
Earlier in the evening, Asaël Adjoudj (10-1) used his reach advantage to outpoint France’s Yves Landu (21-10) in a unanimous decision win (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). Landu mounted a late third-round comeback, but Adjoudj’s control in the early rounds proved enough for the judges.
Opening the main card, Jordan Newman (8-0) preserved his undefeated record with a TKO victory after Eslam Abdelbaset (16-4) failed to answer the bell for Round 2. Abdelbaset knocked Newman down early, but Newman rebounded with punishing knees that damaged Abdelbaset’s eye, prompting the stoppage.
The 2025 PFL World Tournament resumes Friday, Aug. 15, at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. The early card begins at 6:30 p.m. ET, with the main card airing at 9 p.m. ET.
