On a weekend that didn't go in their favour, Team Lakay desperately needed Jeremy Pacatiw's victory.

They competed in seven fights on Friday at ONE 164 and ONE on Prime Video 5, but only "The Juggernaut" and unbeaten rising star Jhanlo Mark Sangiao were able to claim victories.

Most notably, when Jarred Brooks won the ONE Strawweight World Title by decision, Joshua Pacio lost Team Lakay's last championship, while previous ONE World Champions Eduard Folayang and Geje Eustaquio also suffered losses.

Pacatiw, Sangiao, and Stephen Loman, members of the younger generation of Baguio City fighters, appear to be making progress, but "The Juggernaut" won't write off their seniors just yet.

“We need to comfort them. They’ve helped us a lot – not only in training, but also when it comes to advice. They shared their knowledge and skill, and we still believe that it’s not the end of their careers.  We believe that they still have the skills to show, and in God’s time, he will give it to our seniors. We believe in them,” Pacatiw said in an interview with ONE Championship.

He received a US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong for finishing early in round two.
