Diego Lopes Defeats Jean Silva in Wild Finish at Noche UFC; Martinez Upsets Font

Noche UFC delivered a night full of finishes and breakout performances Saturday at Frost Bank Center, headlined by a thrilling featherweight main event between Diego Lopes and Jean Silva.

Lopes (No. 2 featherweight contender) survived a dangerous second round and rallied with a sudden flurry of elbows to stop Silva (No. 10) by TKO at 4:48 of Round 2, capping off a wild fight that earned Fight of the Night honors.

“I said it all week. I’ll stay at the high level, I proved it tonight,” Lopes said after the win. “If you think I need one more fight [before the title], give me the next opponent.”

“That was for Mexico,” Martinez said. “I’ve been watching UFC since I was little. To have a chance to be here is incredible.”
