Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Błachowicz is set for a comeback after enduring a tough 2023 and 2024. Following a split decision loss to Alex Pereira in 2023—who later claimed the division’s title—and double-shoulder surgery in 2024, Błachowicz spent over a year out of action.

The surgeries addressed years of accumulated wear and tear. "Rehabilitation was very hard," Błachowicz admitted. "I almost cried during therapy because progress felt so slow." Six months later, his shoulders began improving. "Now they are much better than before the surgery," he shared.

At 41, Błachowicz feels rejuvenated and ready to compete again. "I can do everything again—sparring, training—I'm ready to return," he said. He believes this surgery has prolonged his career, giving him a chance to perform at a high level once more. "It was tough, but necessary. Now I feel stronger," he added.

Eager to reestablish himself in the light heavyweight division, Błachowicz is determined to make the most of this new chapter, showing that age and adversity won’t stop him from pursuing greatness.
