Jackie Buntan wants to become two-sport World Champion in ONE Championship

On the Prime Video card of ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III, Jackie Buntan, an American sensation, made a spectacular start by knocking out the Australian rising star Diandra Martin in the first round last Friday, May 5th.

Even after a few days, the 25-year-old strawweight Muay Thai contender feels proud of her impressive performance and has set her sights on achieving significant accomplishments in the future.

As millions of fans worldwide and thousands in attendance at the sold-out 1stBank Center in Colorado witnessed, Buntan exhibited her top-notch skills against Martin and was in an exceptional "flow" state. This led to remarkable results in the ring. In the later part of the first round, Buntan delivered a left hook to the body followed by a powerful right to the head that sent Martin crashing to the canvas and brought the exuberant American crowd to their feet.

According to the representative from Boxing Works, Buntan was in autopilot mode when the knockout happened. This marked her first knockout among five sensational victories inside the Circle. Buntan attributes her success to years of grueling training and relentless repetition of the same combination. All her hard work paid off with a spectacular moment at ONE Championship's historic U.S. debut event.

And now, she has her eyes set on winning both the ONE Muay Thai World Title and the ONE Kickboxing World Title.

“I want to be a two-sport World Champion in Muay Thai and kickboxing. Obviously, I did the Muay Thai fight last year. It didn’t go my way. That’s still on the horizon. But right now, I truly believe I’m the number one contender for both,” she said in an interview with ONE Championship.
