In a surprising turn of events, boxing and MMA veteran Heather "The Heat" Hardy is set to add another sport to her impressive resume. The 42-year-old former multi-division women’s boxing champion will step into the world of bare-knuckle fighting for the first time in a championship bout against Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) star Christine Ferea later this year.
The announcement was made by BKFC President David Feldman during an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani on Wednesday, sending shockwaves through the combat sports community.
Hardy, known for her tenacity and skill inside the ring, has already made her mark in the boxing world, holding titles in multiple weight classes. She also has experience in professional mixed martial arts, having competed under the Bellator MMA banner. Now, she is set to test her mettle in the unique and brutal realm of bare-knuckle fighting.
Her opponent, Christine Ferea, is no stranger to the BKFC scene. As the reigning BKFC women’s flyweight champion, Ferea has proven herself to be one of the top female fighters in the sport. With her impressive record and formidable skills, she presents a formidable challenge for Hardy in her bare-knuckle debut.
