Jonathan Haggerty is a formidable opponent, according to Nong-O Hama, but not dangerous enough.

On Friday, April 21, the Thai legend will defend his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title against "The General" on Prime Video. He is quick to praise the skill set his most recent opponent brings to the table.

For their confrontation at Bangkok, Thailand's Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Nong-O is aware that Haggerty will be carrying a number of lethal weaponry. He even lauded the British man for his distinctive fashion sense. He believes that he is superior to the previous ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion, though.

“Haggerty has studied Muay Thai since he was a kid, and he has been great since then. I’ve followed him. His Muay Thai is awesome. He has got all of the techniques like kicking, punching, and elbow striking. He is wonderful. His strikes are beautiful. He is a really good boxer in my view, but he is not a problem for me,” Nong O said in an interview with ONE Championship.

Nong-O has plenty of incentive for the next fight since Haggerty has a wide range of abilities, but he intends to stay one step ahead when they square off for the Thai superstar's bantamweight title.

The current ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Joseph Lasiri, former two-sport striking ace Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, and top-five ranked Taiki Naito have all been defeated by Haggerty, but Nong-O is certain that he has the skills to handle the newest challenger to his kingdom.

Nong-O Hama, an older gentleman of Muay Thai at age 36, is still at the top of his game as seen by his perfect 10-0 record in the ONE Championship.

The Evolve MMA fighter hopes to utilise his most recent fight against a younger opponent to demonstrate that age is nothing more than a number when you're committed to your craft. Jonathan Haggerty will be 10 years his junior.

Speaking further, he said he will KO Haggerty.

“In the five previous fights, I won by KO. And in the upcoming one, I am determined to get a bonus from Chatri [Sityodtong, ONE Chairman and CEO]. I will knock Jonathan Haggerty out, and I will do my best for my Thai fans. I will keep this belt among Thai people in Thailand.  No one can take it away from me. I’m not going to lose this World Championship until I retire,” he added.
