Indian Boxers Clinch 26 Medals on Day 3 at Belt and Road Youth Boxing Gala

India’s junior boys and girls delivered a dominant performance at the 3rd “Belt and Road” International Youth Boxing Gala, securing 26 medals after a power-packed Day 3 in Xinjiang. With all semifinalists confirmed, the Indian contingent is guaranteed a podium finish across multiple weight categories.

India has sent a 58-member squad to the tournament, including 20 boys and 20 girls, supported by 12 coaches, six support staff and one referee and judge. Only U-17 athletes are representing India in this edition, with selections made from the 6th U-17 Junior Boys & Girls National Boxing Championships 2025. Medalists across Asian Youth Games and Non-Asian Youth Games categories earned their spots on the team.

Among the standout semifinalists in the boys’ division are Dhruv Kharb (46kg), Uday Singh (46kg), Falak (48kg), Piyush (50kg), Aditya (52kg), Udham Singh Raghav (54kg), Ashish (54kg), Devendra Chaudhary (75kg), Jaideep Singh Hanjra (80kg) and Loven Gulia (+80kg), all of whom advanced after defeating strong opponents from China, Korea, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The Indian junior girls also shined with commanding victories. Khushi (46kg), Bhakti (50kg), Radhamani (60kg), Harsika (60kg), Diya (66kg), Priya (66kg), Laxmi (46kg), Chahat (60kg), Himanshi (66kg), Harnoor (66kg) and Prachi Khatri (+80kg) each secured impressive wins over boxers from China and Korea to advance to the semifinals.

The boys matched the girls’ energy with gritty performances, highlighted by Falak, Piyush, Udham Singh Raghav, Devendra Chaudhary and Loven Gulia, ensuring India’s strong showing in the later rounds.

The tournament continues through Aug. 29 in Urumqi and Yili, where India’s junior boxers will aim to build on their momentum and showcase the country’s rising talent on the international stage.
