ONE Championship has announced a World Title fight that has been building for some time.
Ruthless Russian finisher Asadula Imangazaliev and Uzbek phenom Aslamjon Ortikov will clash for the vacant ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship at The Inner Circle on Friday, June 26, streaming exclusively on live.onefc.com from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Imangazaliev, 22, has been a wrecking ball since stepping onto the global stage. The Team Mehdi Zatout and Team Chingiz Allazov product remains unbeated with 12-0 striking record into the title fight.
His finishing power was on full display in his last bout, when he knocked out Muay Thai great Nong-O Hama in the second round in a contest for the vacant ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship. However, a weight miss prior to the contest made him ineligible to claim the crown that night, leaving the title vacant and Imangazaliev with unfinished business. On June 26, he gets his chance to correct that.
Standing in his way is a fighter who has been equally unstoppable on his own journey to this moment. Ortikov, 23, trains out of TC Muaythai and Sport Club Shakhriyor and arrives carrying a flawless 24-0 career striking record with 13 finishes and a perfect 10-0 ONE record.
Several big stars have tried their luck against the Uzbek since his debut, and all have come up short. His most recent performance, a TKO victory over Colombia's Jordan Estupinan in May, only reinforced his credentials as a genuine title contender.
The stakes extend beyond the belt for Ortikov. A victory on June 26 would make him Uzbekistan's first-ever ONE Muay Thai World Champion, a historic achievement that would announce a new era for the flyweight Muay Thai division.
Two unbeaten fighters. One vacant throne. The flyweight Muay Thai division is about to crown its next champion.
