Fabricio Andrade came within inches of capturing the ONE Bantamweight World Championship last October before an inadvertent groin strike to John Lineker forced a halt to their bout, but “Wonder Boy” is back to reinforce the statement he was previously making.

The Brazilian counterparts will meet for the second time on Saturday, 25 February, in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 with the vacant ONE Bantamweight World Title up for grabs.

The first encounter lived up to the hype, with the two adversaries showcasing a bantamweight barnburner for all to see. As the rounds progressed, it was the 25-year-old’s strikes that were landing cleaner and crisper before the bout’s untimely ending.

This time around, however, Andrade is insistent on not letting the contest reach the later stages.

“He will definitely prepare more now that he knows how good I am,” Andrade said.

“But I believe this will not make a difference. Three months of training will not make him become another athlete. I know how he fights, he knows how I fight, and that won’t change for the rematch.

“This fight will end in a maximum of two rounds. And it will definitely end with me knocking out John Lineker one more time.”

Despite the abrupt finish to their initial meeting, the Tiger Muay Thai product feels there are plenty of positives to take away from October’s ONE on Prime Video 3 encounter.

The control the Brazilian thinks he had over Lineker throughout the first clash has only allowed Andrade’s confidence to flourish, as he senses it’s only a matter of time before the title is firmly around his waist.

“I think the fact that I came very close to ending the fight, that he was badly hurt in the fight, and that I defended all his attempts on the ground, makes a difference in the psychological factor,” Andrade said.

“He knows I’m better than him. His only chance of winning this fight is if something extraordinary happens. But we know that I’m the best athlete. This is my moment, and I’m going to be the champion.”
