BRAVE Combat Federation announced the departure of one of its most dynamic athletes, Eliezer “King Kong” Kubanza of the Democratic Republic of Congo, as he pursues bigger opportunities on the global MMA stage.
Kubanza entered BRAVE CF with a reputation as a powerful striker and quickly became a standout in the super welterweight division. Known for his explosive style and fearless approach, Kubanza thrilled fans worldwide and solidified himself as a top contender while carrying the DRC flag for a new generation of African fighters.
During his tenure, Kubanza rose to No. 1 contender status, inspiring countless African athletes and becoming a fan favorite across the continent. BRAVE CF praised his contributions, noting the pride in being the platform where he showcased his talents and built an international reputation.
With Kubanza’s exit, the super welterweight title picture now shifts. Champion Luiz Cado remains at the top, while No. 2-ranked Alex Lohoré of Côte d’Ivoire is poised to stake his claim for a championship shot. Close behind are Kamal Magomedov at No. 3, along with Zagid Gaidarov and Rami Hamed, keeping the division competitive.
This shake-up promises new rivalries and fresh opportunities in a division already known for high-level talent. African MMA fans, in particular, will watch closely to see if Lohoré can capitalize on the opening and bring another African flag into BRAVE CF championship contention.
BRAVE CF extended its gratitude to Kubanza, recognizing him as one of the brightest talents to emerge from the promotion and a true representative of African MMA’s rise on the global stage.
