Demetrious Johnson plans to reach out to Khabib Nurmagomedov and GSP

Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson delivered a dominant performance in the main event of ONE Fight Night 10 to retain his ONE Flyweight World Championship and solidify his status as MMA's indisputable GOAT.

The flyweight king generally dominated the action over the course of five fast-paced rounds to defeat a competitor and former titleholder Adriano Moraes by unanimous decision this past Friday, May 5, at Colorado's 1stBank Centre.

Aside from cementing his legacy, the victory also clinched Johnson's 2-1 victory over Moraes.

Demetrious Johnson can now look ahead with Adriano Moraes and his first defence of his ONE Flyweight World Championship in the rearview mirror.

The division's most obvious next opponent is the #2-ranked competitor and former titleholder Kairat Akhmetov, who won a landslide decision earlier in the evening.

“We’ll see. I’m still young. [I’ll be] talking to my peers, talking to Urijah Faber. I’m going to reach out to [Georges St-Pierre], I’m going to reach out to Khabib Nurmagomedov. I’m going to talk to these guys. Like, ‘Why did you guys stop?,” Johnson said in an interview with ONE Championship.

“Those guys could’ve kept on fighting. And there comes a point in time [where you say], ‘I’m 36 years old, and do I just keep on doing this and give other athletes the opportunity to beat me and add to their legacy, or whatever?’ So, there’s a lot of stuff that I’ve got to muster up,” he added.
