Crawford Defeats Canelo by Unanimous Decision in Historic Netflix Boxing Event

Terence Crawford handed Canelo Álvarez a rare defeat Saturday night, winning by unanimous decision in a historic super middleweight title bout that streamed live exclusively on Netflix.  Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) remained undefeated and claimed the undisputed super middleweight championship after 12 competitive rounds at T-Mobile Arena.

Judges scored the bout 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113 in favor of Crawford, making the event one of the most significant in modern boxing history.  Canelo Álvarez (62-3-2, 39 KOs), a future Hall of Famer and one of boxing’s most decorated champions, struggled to match Crawford’s speed and precision throughout the fight.  

The event marked Netflix’s biggest foray into live sports, delivering a blockbuster fight night in Las Vegas that featured a full slate of action-packed bouts.

Callum Walsh def. Fernando Vargas Jr. Irish prospect Callum Walsh (15-0, 11 KOs) stayed unbeaten with a dominant unanimous decision win over Fernando Vargas Jr. (17-1, 15 KOs). Scores were 99-91, 99-91, and 100-90 after 10 rounds.  

Christian Mbilli vs. Lester Martinez – Split Draw WBC interim super middleweight champion Christian Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) and Lester Martinez (19-0-1, 16 KOs) fought to a split draw in a high-action, 10-round clash. Judges scored it 93-97, 96-94, and 95-95.  

Mohammed Alakel def. Travis Kent Crawford

Lightweight contender Mohammed Alakel (5-0) continued his rise with a unanimous decision victory over Travis Kent Crawford. Judges scored the bout 99-91, 99-91, and 98-92.
