Marko "Lionheart" Drmonjic, the main event of BRAVE CF 70, has established himself as a ferocious competitor who refuses to cherry-pick battles in order to safeguard his record. "Lionheart" is now one of Slovenia's most respected sportsmen, and will be one half of the main event of the country's biggest-ever MMA show, BRAVE CF 70, which takes place in Ljubljana on April 23, in cooperation with major regional organisation WFC.
Throughout the early days of European MMA, conditions for professional competitors were not always ideal. Drmonjic's fighting career was hampered by a lack of a structured amateur system and competitions. This reality, combined with his fearlessness and readiness to face anyone at any moment, caused him to immediately dive into deep waters with seasoned and lethal mixed martial artists.
Drmonjic made his debut in 2007, when future opponent Jun was only 16 years old. "Lionheart" took a tremendous leap in only his third fight, facing the respected Anthony Rea, who was 14-10 at the time. It was sink or swim for the Slovenian, who quickly found his feet and began to blossom, going on a four-fight win streak that propelled him to WFC Middleweight contender status.
When he fights Bosnia and Herzegovina's KO machine Jun, who makes his BRAVE CF debut next month, Drmonjic will admirably stick to his idea of "fighting anybody at any time."
In a battle of ages, "Lionheart" will use his knowledge to extinguish the growing flames of "The Bounty Hunter," who has taken the globe by storm with his astonishing 100 percent KO record and celebrity status.
“Erko (Jun) does not have that much experience in MMA. He has never been into deep waters like I have, nonetheless, he is still dangerous. I couldn't bring someone easy to make me look good in my last fight. I chose him, and he also chose me. He's on the rise, and I'm just finishing my career. I know he's got granite in his hands, but I've got it too,” said Drmonjic.
Jun is a rising star in the European Light Heavyweight division who will seek to make a huge impression on his global debut. In comparison to Drmonjic's 21 fights, the "Bounty Hunter" has only battled seven times in professional MMA (5-2), with his first fight occurring in 2018. Drmonjic admires Jun's fighting style, which is reminiscent of a young "Lionheart."
“Erko Jun has no fear. I see him being very aggressive. I like that, I like aggressive fighters. Erko is also strong. I think that is his biggest strength. Regardless, my prediction for the fight is that I will win. Erko, I hope you will be healthy. Everyone in Slovenia and neighboring nations is waiting for this fight, so please come ready,” he added.
