Gamzat Magomedov is out to seek revenge for his teammate. The major event of BRAVE CF 57 earlier this year was very difficult for KHK Team Bahrain to take. It was not to be as Canada's Brad Katona stole the show with a split decision win to claim the sparkling BRAVE CF Bantamweight championship. Hamza Kooheji, one of their star athletes, came close to winning the squad another international title.
To add salt to Kooheji and his team's wounds, the event was held at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in the centre of Bahrain in front of thousands of Bahraini fans. Gamzat Magomedov, the top-ranked fighter, is motivated by this painful experience as he prepares to seek revenge on Katona in their title bout at BRAVE CF 63. Magomedov is Kooheji's colleague and close friend.

“Of course I want to take revenge on Brad (Katona) and return the belt to KHK and make our fans and friends happy again,” said Magomedov.
The fact that Magomedov and Kooheji have been so close over the years and that their friendship has grown beyond the level of teammateship to that of a fraternity makes this fight even more special for Magomedov.
“I have known Hamza since 2016. I came to Bahrain to help him prepare for the first BRAVE CF event. He helps me with everything while I am in Bahrain, he helps with any problems I have here. Over the years he has become very close to me,” says the Bantamweight star. “I felt that Hamza won that fight, but the judges gave the victory to Katona, with that said, I want to beat Brad Katona even more. Brad has no negative emotions toward me, and nor do I have any ill feelings toward him. We treat each other well, but in the cage I feel a great responsibility to myself and I am motivated for this fight.”
The SBG Ireland representative Katona is currently in first place in the BRAVE Combat Federation Bantamweight class after defeating Gamzat's colleague and close buddy. In the opening episode of the venerable Kombat Kingdom series, BRAVE CF 63, Magomedov submits his candidacy for the 135-pound belt, believing that he is superior in every way.

“I watched Hamza Kooheji vs. Brad Katona very carefully. Brad did not show anything special in this fight. He's good at striking, wrestling and grappling, but not on my level. He didn't surprise me at all. I can’t see how any part of Katona’s game can be better than mine. He won’t be better at striking and I know I'll be stronger than him in wrestling. He might be able to come up with something on the grappling front, but I'm ready for anything. The cage will show everything,” warned Magomedov.
On Wednesday, October 19th, BRAVE CF 63 will take place. The main event of the card will be a vacant Super Welterweight world title fight between top contenders Ismail Naurdiev and Marcin Bandel. The co-main event will be Gamzat's opportunity to meet champion Katona.
