The BRAVE Combat Federation’s Flyweight division continues to intensify as Georgia’s Bidzina Gavashelishvili and Brazil’s Marciano Ferreira prepare for a pivotal showdown at BRAVE CF 96.
Billed as part of the promotion’s unofficial Flyweight tournament, the matchup carries major implications for the division. BRAVE CF president Mohammed Shahid emphasized the stakes, saying, “This is an unofficial tournament going on to determine the world’s best Flyweight.”
Gavashelishvili has gained momentum with back-to-back victories, including a dominant win over Kazakhstan’s Erasyl Shukataev at BRAVE CF 84. The Georgian grappler believes he is already at the top of the division. “I know I’m the number one — not just in BRAVE, but in the world,” he said.
Ferreira, meanwhile, made a memorable BRAVE CF debut with a knockout of Edilceu Alves at BRAVE CF 78. Confident and ambitious, the Brazilian is eyeing Gavashelishvili as the final hurdle before a title shot. “I’m ready for this fight,” Ferreira said. “I’m gonna knock my opponent out, and the next fight, I’ll fight for the belt.”
The bout in Slovenia is seen as a critical moment in BRAVE CF’s Flyweight landscape, with both fighters seeking to earn a shot at division standout Muhammad Mokaev.
BRAVE CF 96 takes place in Ljubljana and will feature a clash of styles, national pride, and championship ambitions as Georgia and Brazil meet in the cage.
