Indian Junior Boxers Claim 26 Medals at Belt and Road Youth Boxing Gala in China

India’s junior boxers delivered a dominant performance at the 3rd “Belt and Road” International Youth Boxing Gala – U17/U19/U23 International Training Camp & Tournament, clinching 7 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze medals to finish with a total of 26 medals in Xinjiang, China.

The Indian girls’ team led the way with five gold medals, highlighted by victories from Laxmi (46kg), Radhamani (60kg), Harnoor (66kg), Jyoti (75kg), and Anshika (+80kg). Jyoti’s triumph came against a Chinese opponent in the finals. India also secured five silver and six bronze medals on the girls’ side, with several all-India clashes adding to the tally and underscoring the squad’s depth.

In the boys’ category, India collected two gold, two silver, and six bronze medals. Falak (48kg) and Udham Singh Raghav (54kg) captured gold with commanding wins over Kazakh opponents, while Dhruv Kharb (46kg) and Piyush (50kg) earned silver after closely contested bouts. Bronze medals came from Uday Singh (46kg), Aditya (52kg), Ashish (54kg), Devendra Chaudhary (75kg), Jaideep Singh Hanjra (80kg), and Loven Gulia (+80kg).

India fielded a 58-member contingent that included 20 boys and 20 girls, supported by 12 coaches, five staff members, and one referee and judge. Only U-17 boxers represented India this year, with selections based on results from the 6th U-17 Junior Boys & Girls National Boxing Championships 2025.

With this medal haul, India’s junior boxers reinforced their reputation on the global stage, continuing to make steady progress in youth boxing.
