Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu's first title defense is here, and it is a stern one.
ONE Championship has confirmed that the reigning ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion will put his gold on the line against undefeated Azerbaijani-Russian submission specialist Elbek Alyshov at The Inner Circle 24 on July 31, live on live.onefc.com from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Baatarkhuu, 37, has one of the most remarkable origin stories in combat sports. The Mongolian champion once worked gruelling 12-hour shifts in the mines before channelling that same iron will into a fighting career that has taken him all the way to the top of the bantamweight division.
He even appeared on Netflix's reality show Physical: Asia, giving the world a glimpse of the man behind the fighter. Inside the ring, his 14-3 MMA record with nine finishes and a 7-1 ONE record tell the story of a fighter who has been almost impossible to stop since hitting his stride.
His path to the championship was built on grit and determination. Baatarkhuu claimed the ONE Bantamweight MMA World Title in 2025, submitting the feared Fabricio Andrade in the fourth round of a gruelling performance that announced him as the division's elite.
He arrives at this first title defense riding a four-fight win streak and carrying the confidence of a man who has already beaten the best the division has to offer.
But Alyshov is unlike any opponent Baatarkhuu has faced. The 27-year-old Azerbaijani-Russian carries a perfect 10-0 MMA record and a 2-0 ONE record into the title shot, arriving as a submission specialist with all the tools to shock the bantamweight division on the biggest night of his career.
His unblemished record speaks to a fighter who has handled every challenge thrown at him with clinical efficiency, and a world title fight against the reigning champion represents the ultimate test of those credentials.
