Aung La N Sang is open to a fight with the newly crowned ONE Light Heavyweight champion.

The former two-division champion recognised a unique performance when ONE Interim Heavyweight World Champion Malykhin defeated the previously unbeaten Dutchman to win the gold in the second division.

Aung La N Sang's adherence to the Malykhin fan group was cemented by the destruction of De Ridder.

The legendary athlete from Myanmar has watched "Sladkiy" advance from strength to strength on the way to winning two division titles, all the while continuing to be a likeable and devoted parent and husband.

He is uncertain, though, as to whether the Russian will find himself in his own sights. Malykhin has hinted that he intends to compete for the World Championship in a different division, but "The Burmese Python" can only imagine a contest in his present weight division.

“I think I would only fight Malykhin on a basis that he comes down to middleweight. There’s no way I’m going to fight at light heavyweight anymore,” Aung La said in an interview with ONE Championship.

He went on to add that Malykhin has improved with time.

“He is very impressive. When he started off, we thought he was just a wrestler with good boxing. But now we can see he’s well-rounded. He’s a great mixed martial artist and a World Champion in two divisions. He’s going to do big things,” Aung La added.

The Burmese Python also acknowledged the fact that Malykhin is a humble family man.

“He’s also a humble family man. A great guy. I’ve met him many times. I’m very happy for him. He deserves everything he worked for. How can you not like him? When you meet him outside, he’s the sweetest guy. Then he’s a savage in the ONE Circle,” he added.
