Aung La N Sang feels that Reinier De Ridder made him a better fighter. Aung La N Sang, who is a former two-division champion in ONE Championship, fought twice against Reinier De Ridder.

After three straight wins in ONE Championship, Reinier De Ridder earned a shot at 'The Burmese Python,' and decimated him to win the middleweight and light heavyweight titles in successive fights.

Aung La went back to the drawing board after his loss to De Ridder and got a quick knockout win over Leandro Ataides. However, he suffered a loss to Vitaly Bigdash in the fight that followed.

The Burmese Python once again bounced back with three back-to-back wins. Aung La got his first win over Yushin Okami back in November 2022 and followed up with a win over Gilberto Galvao. Aung La then secured a win over Fan Rong at ONE Fight Night 10 in the United States to make it three in a row.

Interestingly, Reinier De Ridder is still reigning on top of the ONE Middleweight division. The Dutchman has, however, lost the Light Heavyweight title to Anatoly Malykhin and suffered a knockout loss as well to the Russian.

Speaking to SCMP MMA after his win, Aung La noted that Reinier De Ridder made him a better fighter.

“The jiu-jitsu part, I’ve been working a lot on it since my loss against Reinier [de Ridder]. I even told him backstage, you made me a better fighter, so thank you,” he said in the interview.

Nothing has been confirmed yet for the next outing of Aung La but a rematch with Reinier De Ridder for the Middleweight gold could be on the cards for the superstar from Myanmar.
