This Saturday, Namsai is set to host the highly anticipated Aturto 2.2 mixed martial arts (MMA) event at the Poi Pee Mau ground, drawing attention from fans and fighters across the region.
The event, scheduled for 14 September, promises to be a thrilling display of raw talent and fierce competition, featuring both local and regional fighters in a battle for glory.
During a press briefing, Aturto CEO Higio Tarak revealed that the event will feature 11 exciting matchups, showcasing 22 fighters from different states, including participants from Meghalaya, Manipur, and a seasoned professional from Mizoram. Notably, four homegrown fighters from Namsai will compete in front of an enthusiastic local crowd, eager to support their hometown heroes.
The main event will see Jowkhum Dili Singpho, representing Abrasumente Academy (Arunachal), take on Nazareth Lalthazuala, representing Team Joseph (Mizoram). Singpho, coming off a second-round knockout victory in Aturto 1.2: Ground Ziro, will look to continue his success in front of his home crowd, while Nazareth makes his debut in the promotion.
The co-main event features Kisan Bareh of Team Revolution (Meghalaya) against Kon Jarbin from Abrasumente Academy (Arunachal). Jarbin, who has finished all five of his opponents in the first round, aims to extend his streak of dominant performances.
In addition to MMA, Muay Thai bouts will add an exciting layer to the event, catering to both hardcore fans and newcomers to the sport. The organizers hope to spotlight exceptional performances and offer fighters a platform to elevate their careers.
