India Earns Silver and Bronze in MMA at Asian Youth Games 2025

India concluded its campaign in mixed martial arts (MMA) at the Asian Youth Games 2025 with two medals, as Shriya Satam and Veer Bhadu delivered podium finishes in Manama, Bahrain.

Shriya Satam impressed in the girls’ 50kg category, earning a silver medal after advancing to the final with two wins in her group. She fell short in the title bout, losing to Kazakhstan’s Amelina Bakiyeva via arm submission at Exhibition World Bahrain.

A day earlier, Veer Bhadu claimed bronze in the boys’ 80kg division, overcoming Thailand’s Dechachot Barisri in the bronze-medal contest. The event featured six competitors across two groups, with Bhadu finishing second in his pool to secure a podium finish.

The results marked a strong showing for India’s young MMA contingent, as the nation wrapped up the Games with one silver and one bronze in the discipline.
