Fabian Edwards, Oleg Popov and Antonio Carlos Jr. Crowned Champions at 2025 PFL

The 2025 PFL World Tournament Finals wrapped up Thursday night at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, with champions crowned in the heavyweight, light heavyweight and middleweight divisions.

In the main event, Birmingham’s Fabian Edwards (16-4) delivered a spectacular performance against Dalton Rosta (11-2) of American Top Team. Rosta opened strong with persistent takedown attempts and clinch control, but Edwards repeatedly broke free and countered with strikes. In the third round, Edwards landed a sharp elbow, a punishing body kick, and a devastating head kick — reminiscent of his brother’s signature finish — to claim the 2025 PFL World Tournament Middleweight Championship by knockout.

The co-main event saw Moldova’s Alexandr Romanov (19-4) battle Russia’s Oleg Popov (22-2) in a grueling five-round heavyweight clash. Popov controlled the early action with leg kicks and pressure, while Romanov answered with clinch work and knees in the middle rounds. After a back-and-forth contest, the judges awarded Popov a split-decision victory to secure the PFL Heavyweight Tournament title.

The night opened with a light heavyweight showdown between Sullivan Cauley (8-2) and former PFL Champion Antonio Carlos Jr. (19-6). Both men exchanged heavy knockdowns in the first round, with Cauley pushing forward again in the second. However, after a cut and an eye poke halted momentum, Carlos Jr. capitalized with a takedown and locked in a rear-naked choke submission at 3:44 of the round to reclaim the PFL Light Heavyweight crown and a $500,000 prize.
