Alyse Anderson predicts submission win over Stamp Fairtex

Alyse Anderson has a fantastic opportunity to establish her status as one of the best in the ONE Championship.

The promotion's first U.S. event, ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III on Amazon Video, will feature the American mixed martial artist taking against Thai superstar Stamp Fairtex on May 5.

She notes that she jumped at the opportunity when she was presented with the same.

“I don’t know Stamp personally, but from what I see, it looks like she trains hard for every fight. So I don’t think that she’s underestimating me. I just think that a lot of people in general, because I don’t have the experience yet, are just thinking that it’s going to be an easy win. But that’s why I’m looking forward to proving myself with this tough matchup,” Alyse Anderson said in an interview with ONE Championship.

Although Stamp Fairtex's grappling has significantly improved in recent years, Alyse Anderson anticipates having the upper hand in that area despite Stamp Fairtex's unquestionably superior striking credentials.

In her previous bout, the American submitted Asha Roka, and she intends to do the same in her contest with Stamp.

“I think that I am most comfortable as a grappler, which is why I like this matchup. Because Stamp is a world-class kickboxer, but she does have holes in MMA, I see them in her grappling. Honestly, that’s where I see her biggest hole. So that’s where I see myself taking the fight and taking advantage. I’m not concerned about her level of grappling,” Anderson added.

She also added that she cannot predict the round but promises a submission.

“I feel like I’ll be a lot stronger than she thinks, just because I don’t look as strong as I am. But grappling-wise, she will feel a big strength difference, even though I know she has a lot of power in her hands. But grappling-wise, I don’t think she has as much strength. I definitely see me getting the submission. I can’t give you a round, but I’ll just say I will win through a submission,” she adds.
