Aline Pereira joined her brother Alex Pereira in championship glory Saturday night, capturing the vacant Karate Combat flyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Fani Peloumpi in the co-main event of Karate Combat 56.
Fighting in Miami, Pereira, 34, delivered a strong performance to earn the belt, with former two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira and coach Plinio Cruz in her corner. The win marked Pereira’s third consecutive victory in the promotion.
Pereira entered the bout as a heavy favorite after scoring knockout wins in her first two Karate Combat appearances. Much like her brother, her signature weapon has been the left hook—a technique that played a prominent role in Saturday’s title-winning effort.
While Pereira’s record in MMA stands at 1-2, she has found renewed success and identity in Karate Combat, now becoming one of the rising stars and faces of the organization.
