Ailin Perez: What you should know about the Argentine UFC Fighter

Ailin Perez is an Argentine MMA Fighter who currently competes in the UFC. She has been an active name in the MMA circuit since 2018 and has competed across multiple MMA promotions.

Dancer before fighter

Prior to her run as an MMA fighter, Ailin Perez used to be a dancer. She herself revealed the same during one of her interviews and noted that she specialized in dance styles such as reggaeton, salsa, and bachata.

She made her amateur MMA debut in the year of 2018 when she fought Brenda Marchessi at Better Fighters 4. The Argentine fighter secured a submission victory via arm bar in the fight.

Turning Professional

A few months after her amateur MMA win, Ailin decided to turn professional. Her professional MMA debut came against Noemi Galarza at MRWF-ULLAMP. Ailin secured a unanimous decision win in the fight and quickly made a return one month later.

In her second fight, she fought Laura Ribeiro at Collision Fight Ultimate 10 and secured a submission victory in this fight.

In Collision Fight Ultimate, Ailin had her third fight and fought Fiorella Cardozo. This time around, Ailin secured a TKO win.

Ailin then took a two year gap from her MMA career between 2019 and 2021. Her return happened in 2021 when she fought Geyse Yasmin at Natal Fight Championship 19. The return proved to be a success story as Ailin got a decision victory.

She followed this up with a head kick Knockout win over Alessandra Tainara at Samurai Fight House 1. Two months after her knockout win, Ailin returned to the promotion to fight Tamires Vidal and suffered her first career loss. The loss, however, happened due to disqualification.

Ailin bounced back strongly in the two fights that followed and secured two back-to-back TKO victories against Romina Aguirre and Stephanie Bragayrac.

Debut in the UFC

Her impressive run in the regional scene secured Ailin a UFC contract. She was pitted up against Stephanie Egger in her UFC Debut at UFC Fight Night: Gane vs. Tuivasa.

Ailin made headlines at the weigh-ins when she showed off her Twerking skills. However, the fights did not go as planned as Egger was able to get a submission win in the second round via rear-naked choke.

She is set to continue her UFC journey at UFC Vegas 77.
