It seems that Afghan MMA star Abdul Azim Badakhshi could be on his way to the UFC or Road to UFC. His profile has been added to the UFC official website athletes list although there has been no confirmation on the news yet.

The Afghan Lion, who is currently on a professional MMA record of 13-3 to his name was last seen fighting in Matrix Fight Night. He had secured a win over Fabricio Oliveira at Matrix Fight Night 8 and prior to this, he had outclassed Marcelo Guarilha at Matrix Fight Night 7.

However, things between Abdul and Matrix Fight Night went downhill at Matrix Fight Night 9 after a series of unfortunate incidents. Abdul was involved in an altercation with Indian MMA star Srikant Sekhar as a result of which Srikant suffered a broken jaw.

Afghan fighters were subsequently banned from Matrix Fight Night as well by the promoters.

The Afghan is currently on a three-fight winning streak as well with his third win coming at BRAVE Combat Federation. He defeated Agshin Babaev at BRAVE CF 47.

He is currently ranked first in the active Asia South Featherweights as per Tapology and started his career with Super Fight League back in 2013. Abdul was a mainstay in Super Fight League and had only one loss in the promotion which was his debut as well.
