Kayla Harrison has been on a dominant run ever since she transitioned into mixed martial arts. Harrison has already made her mark in PFL and lately, there has been a lot of rumors about Harrison signing with the UFC as well.
Though it is an exciting prospect to see someone like Harrison in the UFC, there could be a small problem as per UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Shevchenko feels that Kayla will have trouble finding opponents in the UFC due to her weight class.
“I did not watch her fights but I know she is kind of like finishing everyone in the first round. Yes definitely, it’s a good thing for female martial arts that you have strong women like her in the UFC and outside… It is very hard I think for her to find someone really in high level because of the weight class. If you have your natural power and weight, every time it’s best for you. Just my opinion, it will be very hard for her to find opponents [in the UFC],” Shevchenko said (h/t Clutchpoints).
Kayla is currently 12-0 in her professional MMA career and has also fought once in Invicta FC apart from her run in PFL. Interestingly, out of Kayla’s 12 wins, 10 have come via either TKO or submission which underlines her dominance so far.
