UFC returned to the Apex with UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Rakic today. The event was headlined by the Light Heavyweight showdown between Anthony Smith and Aleksandar Rakic.
Rakic produced an excellent performance in the main event to take home the win. He managed to push Smith to the back-foot in the first-round itself and managed to carry forward the momentum to the remaining two rounds as well to secure a unanimous decision victory.
In the co-main event, Neil Magny got a crucial win over former UFC champion Robbie Lawler. Magny was having the upper-hand throughout the fight against Lawler who took the fight on short notice. With the win, Magny has now 17 wins at Welterweight in UFC which is just two less than Georges St. Pierre who holds the record for most wins.
Alexa Grasso secured a unanimous decision win against Ji Yeon Kim in the Flyweight division when Ricardo Lamas also added a win to his resume when he defeated Bill Algeo via a unanimous decision.
In the prelims, Impa Kasanganay picked up a decision win when the likes of Alex Caceres, Sean Brady, Polyana Viana, and Mallory Martin secured submission victories.
The much-awaited showdown between Magomed Ankalaev and Ion Cutelaba, meanwhile, was canceled yet again after a positive COVID-19 test for Cutelaba. In a statement, UFC has noted that the fight will be rescheduled. Below are the complete results from the event:
