UFC, over the years, has traveled across the globe and held more than 500 events. Despite the global reach that the promotion has, there are still some places that the company is yet to visit.
Dana White was posed with a question on the topic during one of the pre-fight interviews ahead of UFC 254. The UFC Supremo was asked about the places that UFC is interested to visit after the pandemic and Dana noted that India and parts of China are on the radar.
“Let me think. Obviously, you start looking at places with massive populations like India and there are still places in China that we haven’t held an event yet. And we have a Chinese world champion [Refering to UFC Strawweight champion Weili Zhang],” he said.
Dana also went on to address the possibility of an event in Africa.
“We have a champ from Australia, we have a champ from Russia, China, Kamaru Usman is from Africa. So we have a lot of interesting places where we can put fights on.” He added.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has restricted the company to the UFC Apex Centre and the UFC Fight Island, it is unlikely to be a permanent arrangement, and the company is expected to be back on the road soon.
