UFC Star Sean Strickland feels that Billionaire Elon Musk is becoming the Batman of Free Speech. Strickland tweeted out the same last day.
"Elon is becoming the batman of free speech,” the UFC Middleweight wrote.
Strickland is known for his cheeky comments on Twitter and the latest tweet from him is no different.
The tweet comes from Strickland following Musk’s recent offer to buy Twitter. Recently, Musk had become the single largest holder on Twitter and after rejecting a place on the Twitter Board, Musk offered to buy the internet company altogether.
“I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy,” Musk explained his offer.
The Tesla CEO currently holds a 9.1% stake in Twitter at the moment and had offered an amount of $54.20 per share for his offer which is a premium from the current market price of $46.03 per share. Musk noted that Twitter has immense potential which he plans to unlock. He also asserted the importance of Twitter transforming into a private company.
This is not the first time that a UFC fighter is interacting with Elon Musk as earlier Beneil Dariush had called out Musk for the delayed delivery of Tesla.
As for Strickland, he was in the news recently for his controversial comments on the Ukraine-Russia conflict. He currently holds a professional MMA record of 25-3 to his name and is scheduled to face Alex Pereira next at UFC 277 in July. The American is currently on a six-fight winning streak and had outclassed Jack Hermansson in his last bout.
