UFC 266 is in the books and the pay-per-view delivered some exciting fights for the fans.
Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega delivered an instant classic in the main event. Volkanovski was having the upper hand for the most part of the fight when Ortega had his fair share of moments with his submission attempts. Ortega also showed a lot of heart to go the distance despite the heavy damage that he took in the fight. After action-packed rounds, the fight was ruled in favor of Volkanovski via a unanimous decision.
In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko continued her dominance in the UFC Women’s Flyweight division. Shevchenko dominated Lauren Murphy throughout the fight and ended up getting a fourth-round finish via ground and pound to add another successful title defense into her resume.
The much-awaited showdown between Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler went in favor of Lawler who managed to stop Nick in the third round. Nick and Lawler were throwing a huge volume of strikes while the fight lasted and spent most of the time in the pocket with boxing exchanges. Lawler managed to drop Nick in the third round and this proved to be the end of the fight as Nick was not able to answer the referee.
The Heavyweight showdown between Curtis Blaydes and Jarizinho Rozenstruik went the complete distance. Blaydes managed to take home the decision win in the end and moved closer to a potential title fight in the division.
In the opening bout of the UFC 266 main card, Jessica Andrade made quick work of Cynthia Calvillo and secured a first-round stoppage win. You can checkout the complete results from the event below.
