Tiffany Teo got back into winning ways as she managed to outclass Meng Bo at ONE: Heavy Hitters.
Meng Bo opened strongly in the first round and was attacking the lead leg of Tiffany from the start itself. She also landed some heavy shots which were absorbed by Teo. The former Strawweight contender, however, managed to land a takedown just seconds away from the bell and closed the round on a strong note by controlling Meng Bo on the ground.
Tiffany flipped the fight in the second round and started on a strong note before going on to submit Meng Bo in the third minute to get back to winning ways.
Meng Bo came into the fight on the back of her loss against Ritu Phogat in the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix. Prior to this, the Chinese MMA star was riding high on a seven-fight winning streak which saw her pick up wins against names like Samara Santos, Priscilla Gaol, Laura Balin among others.
Tiffany Teo, on the other hand, came into the fight on the back of a loss against Xiong Jing Nan in the fight which happened back in October 2020. Tiffany was also coming into the fight after a long break which saw her sit out completely for the year 2021.
ONE: Heavy Hitters was the first fight card of the year 2022 from ONE Championship and was headlined by the ONE Women’s Strawweight title fight featuring Xiong Jing Nan and Ayaka Miura.
