One of the challenges people all around the world have been facing over the last weeks is how to stay active and how to cope with the fact that an unprecedented number of people are confined, with recent reports accounting at least a third of the world’s population in lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
It’s the case of BRAVE Combat Federation Bantamweight Champion Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, whose lockdown days have been split between physical activities indoors and volunteering in the assistance of his community.
“In this time of COVID-19 crisis, while we are in a state of lockdown here in the Philippines, I’m trying to remain healthy and doing my exercises”, Loman said. “I’m lifting weights and doing bodyweight workout at home, in order to build muscle and strength. I also do some shadow boxing and stretching, improving flexibility, alongside breathing exercises too. Those are things that pretty much anyone can do but for me, as a professional athlete are even more important going through this situation”.
“My mother and I are also volunteering together”, Loman continued. “We are assisting the Ifugao Cyberspace Watchdog (ICW), a group of professionals from the region of Ifugao who reaches out to stranded students and informal workers who are being affected by this situation. It’s amazing and I’m so grateful for the number of generous people we have across all over the place helping us and mostly helping those people in need. Thank you”.
The last time Stephen Loman stepped into the BRAVE Combat Federation arena he successfully defended his Bantamweight world title against Louis Sanoudakis, with a unanimous decision win at BRAVE CF 30 main event in India.
With the triumph, Loman extended his championship streak to five consecutive wins and four title defenses in-a-row. Having become the Bantamweight world champion back in November 2017, “The Sniper” is the longest-reigning champion inside BRAVE Combat Federation and has also been one of the biggest ambassadors for BRAVE CF's awareness campaign against the spread of Coronavirus, the #BRAVECombatsCovid19 campaign.
