Stamp Fairtex and Puja Tomar are set to lock horns this weekend in Bangkok at ONE Championship: A New Tomorrow.
Stamp, who is currently undefeated in her MMA career with three wins will be looking to take one step closer to the Atomweight title with a win over Puja. Puja, meanwhile, has her own momentum heading into the fight having won her last MMA fight.
While the stakes are indeed high for the fight, Stamp notes that expects a tough challenge from Puja Tomar at the event.
“I am excited to continue this path to a mixed martial arts world championship, I get to prove my worth against another tough challenge in Puja Tomar. Puja is a veteran and I know she will give me a good fight, as I know that I can overcome any challenges that she may pose. I promise that I will soon bring the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Championship home to Thailand as well,” Stamp said.
The reigning ONE Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion also noted that she is getting comfortable with Mixed Martial Arts.
“When it comes to mixed martial arts, I am beginning to feel more comfortable. I am getting used to the style, the competition and being in the Circle. This will be my fourth time competing in mixed martial arts. I think I have improved my takedown defense the most,” she added.
ONE: A NEW TOMORROW features Rodtang Jitmuangnon defending his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship against Jonathan Haggerty, along with Stamp Fairtex locking horns with Puja Tomar in the co-main event. The event will take place on Friday 10 January 2020 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will be live in India on Hotstar.
