Indian Boxing Star Sarita Devi has recovered from COVID-19. Her test came back negative last day but the boxer will remain in isolation away from her home for ten days to avoid risks of infecting her son.

She had tested positive for the virus back on August 17 along with her husband Thoiba Singh who was discharged last week.

“I came back yesterday after testing negative. My husband was discharged last week but I had to spend a few more days at the COVID care center after my test came positive. But thankfully I am out of there now,” Sarita told PTI.

Sarita also went on to explain why she will be remaining in isolation to ensure that her 7-year-old son is not at risk.

“If I would have gone home, he would have come running to me. And I can’t take that risk. For his sake, I have decided to isolate myself at my academy’s hostel. My husband is also here but he will leave because his isolation will be over in the next couple of days as he was discharged before me,” she added.

She concluded that it was a bit difficult for her while also urging everyone to stay strong in the mind.
