Roshan Mainam vs. Gurdarshan Mangat is all set to go down at ONE: Dangal. Here is what you need to know about the fight.
Record and Weight:
The fight between Roshan and Gurdarshan will happen at a catchweight of 65 KG. Roshan took up the fight on short notice which could be one of the reasons why the fight is happening at Catchweight.
Coming to the records, Gurdarshan Mangat holds a professional record of 15-3 to his name. Prior to joining ONE Championship, he has fought in the SFL and BRAVE Combat Federation. Interestingly, he has five wins via submission, five wins via TKO/KO, and five wins via decision making it hard to predict a pattern in his wins.
Roshan Mainam is currently 6-2 in his professional MMA career. Just like Gurdarshan, Roshan has also fought in SFL before joining ONE Championship and EVOLVE MMA. Five out of Roshan’s six wins have come via submissions with one win coming via TKO. His only two losses came against fellow ONE Championship star Kantharaj Agasa.
Momentum:
Roshan is riding high on momentum having won all his last three fights. He is undefeated in ONE Championship with all three of his wins in the promotion coming via submission. He has not suffered a defeat since 2018.
Gurdarshan Mangat, on the other hand, is coming off a first-round submission defeat against Reece McLaren. He was on a five-fight winning streak before this defeat and will be eager to bounce back when he fights Roshan at ONE: Dangal.
Key Factors:
Training out of EVOLVE MMA, Roshan has exceptional wrestling skills. The fact that five of his six wins came via wrestling shows how good he is when it comes to the ground. His wrestling is likely to be his biggest weapon when he fights Gurdarshan at ONE: Dangal.
However, Gurdarshan has excellent Jiu-Jitsu to showcase and has experience of training in Tristar where he shared sessions with names like GSP. Considering the skillset that these two have, it is an equally matched fight that is bound to put on a show for the fans.
