Indian MMA fighter Ritu Phogat improved her professional MMA record to 3-0 with a win over Nou Srey Pov of Cambodia at ONE: Inside the Matrix today in Singapore.
Ritu managed to get a takedown just minutes into the first-round itself and managed to get the upper hand with some excellent transitions. It was a similar story in the second round as well as Ritu landed a takedown in the second minute of the round before going on to finish via ground strikes.
The showdown against Nou Srey Pov was considered to be the biggest test to date for Ritu in Mixed Martial Arts considering the striking skills that her Cambodian counterpart hart. The Indian fighter, however, managed to successfully fend off the challenge and emerged victorious to remain unbeaten in her MMA career.
Ritu had made her MMA and ONE Championship debut back in November 2019 and had secured a first-round TKO win in the fight. She then followed it up with a dominant decision victory in February 2020 and has kept a perfect record now with the win against Nou Srey Pov.
Prior to the fight, Ritu had mentioned that she was looking to book her place in the ONE Championship Atomweight Grand Prix with a win over Nou Srey Pov and now that she has secured the win, it would be interesting to see whether she will get an invitation to the tournament.
ONE Championship had announced the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix a couple of weeks back following the pregnancy announcement of reigning ONE Atomweight Champion Angela Lee.
