ONE: Eersel vs. Sadikovic just got a lot heavier with the addition of Marcus "Buchecha" Almeida and "Reug Reug" Oumar Kane.

The two rising stars will face off on Friday, 22 April, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. In this match, “Buchecha” is expected to utilize his famed jiu-jitsu skills against the dangerous wrestling abilities of “Reug Reug.”

Even before his ONE Championship debut, Almeida was a fan favorite. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu personality has accomplished incredible feats – especially for someone only 32 years old.

“Buchecha” has won 29 gold medals and almost 130 matches in grappling, and he is a 13-time world champion in jiu-jitsu. As far as his record in ONE goes, he’s undefeated thus far at 2-0, with both wins coming by submission in the first round.

“I’m training with the best guys in the world, in my opinion. Because I have a lot of heavyweight training partners in American Top Team, and I have all the support of the Evolve MMA team, as well. I’m training with those guys every day. It’s been perfect. I have great coaches,” Almeida said.

He faces a difficult competitor in “Reug Reug,” though, who is itching to redeem himself after his first loss in the Circle last year. Prior to that defeat, the Senegalese star had three stoppages in a row, all coming by way of a ground-and-pound.

The young wrestler shocked the world in his ONE debut when he fought Alain “The Panther” Ngalani and brought the former kickboxing and Muay Thai champion to his knees. Seconds later, after a barrage of strikes to his opponent’s face, referee Olivier Coste was forced to push Kane off and declare him the winner.

While known primarily for his wrestling skills, “Reug Reug” has shown that he’s able to stay standing in his fights as well. Almeida, on the other hand, immediately went for takedowns in his last two bouts, diving directly into his strengths. It should be interesting to see how the Brazilian fares should the fight stay upright.

Whatever way this fight starts, though, it seems certain to end on the ground.
