Adib Sulaiman of Brunei secured a stoppage win over Susovan Ghosh of India at ONE championship’s ONE Warrior Series 10. The event, which happened in Singapore on 19 February 2020 marked the second Warrior Series appearance for Susovan.
Sulaiman almost got the better of Susovan early in the first round after dropping the Indian and almost getting an arm. Susovan, however, recovered intelligently and got the top position. Sulaiman later managed to bring back the fight to a stand-up position for a short time period but was immediately taken down by Susovan. The first round ended with Susovan on top after an interesting scramble between the two.
The early takedown attempts from Susovan in the second round were fended off by Sulaiman. Susovan then managed to land a huge takedown just at the first-minute mark of the round. Susovan and Sulaiman traded some big punches towards the end of the second round as the fight was bought back to the stand-up position.
With just seconds to go in the second round, Sulaiman managed to drop Susovan which made the referee to stop the fight. The stoppage seemed questionable considering the time that was left on the clock and Susovan was also not happy with how the fight was stopped.
Earlier in the fight night, India’s Manthan defeated Joey Baylon via a unanimous decision to make it 2-0 in the ONE Warrior Series while Rana made his ONE Warrior Series debut a memorable one with a first-round submission win over Seung Hyun Cho of South Korea.
