Indian MMA stars give their take on ONE: NO SURRENDER main event

ONE Championship is all set to return this weekend with ONE: NO SURRENDER in Bangkok on July 31, 2020.

The promotion has lined up a stacked card for the event and one the major attractions will be the showdown between ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon and Petchdam “The Baby Shark” Petchyindee Academy.

It will be a trilogy fight between the two with each fighter having one win each. Ahead of the huge showdown, ONE Championship spoke to a string of Indian fighters about the matchup and below is what everyone had to say courtesy of ONE Championship.

Himanshu Kaushik:

“I will be in favour of Rodtang in this match because he has great strength and great striking ability. Every time he tries to be aggressive against his opponent from the beginning and win. ”

Puja Tomar

“We cannot expect a better match than this in the main event. Both are expert athletes of Muay-Thai. I have been waiting for this match for a long time. I think Rodtang will succeed in saving his title. "

Ritu Phogat:

“I think this will be a fantastic match. Both athletes are fantastic, young, and hungry, and both have proved their worth in ONE since joining in 2018. This is going to be epic. Rodtang is undefeated [in ONE], but Petchdam is also hungry to take the lead in their rivalry. If you ask me, I think it will be a very close match. Both have equal chances to win, but if I have to choose a winner, I will choose Petchdam only because he is challenging for the title.

Roshan Mainam:

“I am very happy that the ONE Championship is making a comeback with such a bang. Every match on the card is going to be great for fans. As a main event, both Rodtang and Petchdam are excellent fighters. It will be difficult to choose between these two. If I had to choose, I think Rodtang would win. "

Gurdarshan Mangat:

“I will choose Rodtang in this match. He has always influenced me in his matches and I have become his fan. The best thing is that he is going to have a lot of fun there and he will be relaxed with his accuracy. "
