NMMMAA successfully hosts All India Open BJJ championship 2021: Full Results

The Navi Mumbai Mixed Martial Arts Association (NMMMAA) hosted the All India Open BJJ Championship 2021 on 27 November 2021 at the Nerul Gymkhana in Navi Mumbai. The event saw athletes from across the country compete in some exciting bouts.

The event opened with six exhibition kickboxing bouts that had some high adrenaline action. Fighters from Combatant Sports Academy were in focus during the kickboxing bouts as the team went up against fighters from different clubs across the nation.

The second half of the day witnessed the BJJ bouts in different weight categories. The action took place across two mats throughout the day and was closed by the Absolute Category which was won by Dipesh Rasal of Fit and Fight Club.

It was a memorable outing for Dipesh at the event as he also won Gold Medal in his weight category before getting his hands on the Absolute title with a win over Santhosh.

The event organized by NMMMAA was supported by Urban Chakki, Healthio, Ironwolf207, Two Brothers Organic Farm, Ultimate MMA, and Fitness and Fit and Fight Club. The event also saw the presence of some prominent names from the combat sports circuit including Indian MMA stars Chaitanya Gavali and Sumeet Khade. The action was live-streamed on LockerRoom India YouTube Channel.

This was the first major event hosted by the Navi Mumbai Mixed Martial Arts Association which aims to build a culture of combat sports in Navi Mumbai and in turn create world-class athletes from the area. NMMMAA President Sanjivan Padwal noted that the team plans to keep more events in the coming months and provide a platform for upcoming fighters from Navi Mumbai.
