UFC 245: Max Holloway says that Rush Holloway was born into the UFC life

Seven-year old Rush Holloway has been a familiar face for UFC fans for quite some time now. He is always seen hanging around his father and UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway during fight weeks and most interestingly, Rush has been a joy to watch at cage side whenever Max fights.

UFC 245 is bound to be no different. Rush has been around his father throughout the pre-fight week and is expected to be near the cage as well. For Max, it is all about giving experiences for his son.

“My son is here right now with me and it’s just like giving an experience we don’t know when this ride ends or whatever, and it’s just life experience . Its ups and downs and good times and bad times and everything and let him see himself. He is only seven. Since, he is born on the same day I got the UFC contract so I can say that he is born into this life, so it’s crazy,” he said.

Max will be defending his Featherweight title at UFC 245 against Alex Volkanovski in the co-main event and the stakes are clearly high. Volkanovski is coming off a win against Jose Aldo while Max has been unstoppable in the division where he reigns as the champion. And Max believes that he still has many questions.

“My training has been the same, we got a bunch of question that he presents and we can’t wait to wait to answer, there are couple of days we are away and I am just getting anxious and anxiety,” he added.

Irrespective of the result, Max sees the fight as yet another opportunity for him to grow and possibly for his son as well.

“Every single fight for Max Holloway until the next fight is a big difference. You just grow, it makes you a lot mature, its allows you to grow of whatever you have left behind. So everything is about getting better, every single time,” he concluded.

Apart from the showdown featuring Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski, UFC 245 will have two other title fights. Kamaru Usman will defend the Welterweight title against Colby Covington while Amanda Nunes will be defending her Bantamweight title against Germaine de Randamie.
