Matrix Fight Night 5 Results: Pawan takes main event, Anshul Jubli wins co-main

Matrix Fight Night returned with a stacked Matrix Fight Night 5 card in Dubai today. The event was headlined by the showdown between Pawan Maan and Sandeep Dahiya. Pawan Maan took home the win this time around with no debates as he steered comfortably through three rounds to a unanimous decision victory.

Anshul Jubli produced a dominant performance in the co-main event. He dominated on the ground against Srikant Sekhar who showed a lot of heart to resist two nasty Kimura attempts from Anshul in the first and third round. When the results were announced, Anshul had a comfortable win on the scorecard. He went on to announce that the ‘Era of the King of Lions’ has begun and said that he is the best fighter in the country.

Jason Ramesh Solomon got back into the winning column after submitting Ravinder Balhara in the second-round via a triangle. Jason had a great game plan in place which saw him keep Ravinder at distance with kicks and his reach to avoid the knockout power. He then capitalized on a takedown attempt from Ravinder to transition into a triangle choke.

Sanjeet Budhwar made quick work of Chaitanya Gavali and finished their fight just seconds into the first-round itself with some vicious punches. Elsewhere, Sumeet Khade produced yet another memorable knockout when he stopped Angad Bisht with a flying knee in the first-round itself.

The opening bout between Musa Raish and Bonjovi went the complete distance. Musa had the upper hand on the ground which gave him a comfortable unanimous decision victory in his promotional debut.

Clinton D’Cruz and Abhimanyu Rai delivered an exciting fight which saw Clinton getting a triangle submission in the second round. Abhimanyu had his moments in the first-round but the superior ground game of Clinton proved to be the difference as he landed one transition after another to get the submission.

The last fight of the prelims saw Anthony Syiem and Karan Lama going up against each other. Syiem came out on top with a unanimous decision victory after an action-filled three rounds.
