MMA Super Cup: Kazakhstan secures third place, takes home $50,000

Kazakhstan has secured the third-place in the inaugural MMA Super Cup. Kazakhstan went up against Mexico today at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Bahrain and dominated the match to win the bronze.

Kazakhs went into the fight with a 3-0 advantage due to withdrawals from the side of Mexico. The Team then piled up on his and picked up back-to-back wins. Ayan Tursyn started the proceedings for Kazakhstan when she got a split decision win over Violeta Mendoza Corral.

Zhanibek Tynyshtyk, Anatoliy Zolotykh, and Neimat Assadov followed this up with wins of their own. Alik Domnich made it 8-0 for Kazakhstan with his first-round finish in the Light Heavyweight division. Rassul Khatayev wrapped up the match for Kazakhstan when he submitted Daniel Flores Sartorius in the first round. With the win, Kazakhstan will also take home prize money of $50,000.

  • Neimat Assadov (KAZ) def. Gerardo Quintana (MEX) via Submission (Round 1)
  • Zhaxybek Aimakhanov (KAZ) gets a bye
  • Vakhid Timerbiyev (KAZ) gets a bye
  • Alik Domnich (KAZ) def. Miguel Angel Serna Castro (MEX) via submission (Round 1)
  • Rassul Khatayev (KAZ) def. Daniel Flores Sartorius (MEX) via submission (Round 1)
