Human remains of amateur MMA Fighter Dave Koenig, who was missing for the past two years, were found last day in Missouri by a man who was looking for deer antlers.
Koenig, who holds an amateur MMA record of 2-0 to his name as per Sherdog, was last seen back on February 8, 2020. The human remains were found in Missouri back on December 22 and after examination from a forensic odonatologist, it was concluded that the remains belonged to Koenig.
“The examination of the remains conducted by a forensic pathologist determined that there was no trauma and that the death did not appear to be the result of foul play,” noted the police department in an official statement.

Dave’s mother Tracy Koenig has ruled out the possibility of any foul play and insisted that people should not be sharing unwanted rumors.
“He was not shot, stabbed, no broken bones of any sort. He wasn’t robbed, as his tattered wallet was still intact, as well as the two silver necklaces he always (wore) amongst some other things. Nobody killed Dave. Nobody!. He left the Peachtree on foot and never made it home. Why he was in distress, and why he walked through the deep woods…..we most likely will never know. But he is GONE. So PLEASE…..NO MORE RUMORS…..NO CONSPIRACY THEORIES…..NO BLAMING BRANSON PD,” Tracy wrote on social media recently.
Assistant Chief Jeff Matthews of Branson Police noted that the efforts that were put in by the department and the volunteers to find Koenig was paramount.
“Our department and the amazing group of volunteers never stopped in our efforts to find Mr. Koenig,” he noted.
