Kiamrian Abbasov laughs off claims from Reinier De Ridder
19 February 2022ONE Full Circle will be headlined by the ONE Middleweight title bout between Kiamrian Abbasov and Reinier De Ridder.
De Ridder will be looking to register his first title defense after winning the title when Abbasov will be looking to become a two-division champion in the promotion as he is already reigning on top of the ONE Welterweight division.
Ahead of the fight, Reinier De Ridder has been confident and even went on to note that he will be looking for a finish against Abbasov. Abbasov has now come out with a reaction to the quotes from De Ridder and laughed off the Dutchman’s claims.
“Reinier de Ridder without a doubt is a good fighter. His record speaks for itself. He is undefeated, 14-0. But he has been talking a lot about himself recently, that he is the best grappler in the world, or that he can knock me out easily. What a funny guy. We’ll see if he can deliver, but his dreams are big. His unblemished record is a big motivation for me. I’d like to be the first guy to upset him and spoil this perfect record,” he said in a recent interview with ONE Championship.
Abbasov currently holds a professional record of 23-4 to his name and is on a five-fight winning streak at the moment. He is coming off a TKO win against James Nakashima and had defeated Zebaztian Kadestam, Yushin Okami, Agilan Thani and Nursultan Ruziboev prior to this.

De Ridder, on the other hand, has not tasted defeat in his professional MMA career and holds a record of 14-0 to his name. He is coming into the fight on the back of two wins over Aung La N Sang.
Abbasov further went on to add that the confidence of De Ridder could be useful for him.
“Many people could have beaten me, but whose hand was raised at the end of each fight? Mine! And those guys either got knocked out or lost on points. If De Ridder thinks our fight will be like a pleasant walk in the park, let him think that. It plays to my advantage,” he added.
